Ather 450X electric scooter

Ather Energy has launched a new variant of its flagship 450X electric scooter, Ather 450X. The Ather 450X is priced at Rs 1.38 lakh, ex-showroom, and is equipped with a small battery pack, similar to the most affordable Ather electric scooter, the 450S. Additionally, the new variant of the Ather 450X electric scooter offers a significantly lower range than the variant equipped with a 3.7 kWh battery pack. Ather claims that the new variant of the 450X is aimed at consumers who want to buy a scooter with similar features and performance as the original model but do not want to spend so much money.

Ather 450X gets a 2.9 kWh battery pack and this variant is available in two options Core (Core) and Pro (Pro). While the Ather 450X Core variant is priced at Rs 1,37,999, the Ather 450X Pro variant is priced at Rs 1,52,999. These prices also include Fame 2 benefits and the cost of the charger. This means the 450X variant with the 2.9 kWh battery pack will cost around Rs 10,000 more than the newly launched Ather 450S. Interestingly, preparations are also being made to give a new look to the flagship 3.7 kWh battery pack variant of Ather 450X, which will start being delivered to customers in October this year.

The new variant of the 450X comes with a similar design to the larger battery-powered variant. Other features will also remain the same. It rides on 12-inch alloy wheels shod with tubeless tyres. For braking, the scooter gets a 20 cm disc brake at the front and a 19 cm disc brake at the rear, which is paired with CBS. As for suspension, it has telescopic front forks and a monoshock absorber at the rear. The color options of this electric scooter include Space Grey, Still White, Salt Green, True Red, Cosmic Black and Lunar Grey.

Interestingly, despite being powered by a smaller 2.9 kWh lithium-ion battery power, the power and torque output and other specifications remain unchanged on this model. It generates maximum power of 8.58 bhp and maximum torque of 26 Nm. Also, it can accelerate from 0 to 40 km per hour in 3.3 seconds.
